GTO

GTO

Alright.. dual widebands installed in the TTGTO, and wired to the HPTuners MPVI. As James Ballenger said, these do get slightly warm during calibration. (330F). I ended up adding some DT connectors in the middle just in case I decided to relocate the boxes in the future.

I’m putting those two Ballenger AFRV2s with the production grade NTK sensors in the GTO. When I replaced the fuel pump setup a while back I noticed while cruising the STFTs on the right bank were +25% while the other side was close to zero. (and this was a new behavior) I had a wideband in only the other side, so I couldn’t tell if it was a sensor problem or not. Since I replaced both narrowband sensor and it didn’t make a difference, I suspect there might be a problem with one of those old Deka 60lb injectors. Once I get the two widebands installed I’ll confirm the fueling is as I suspect, and disable each injector in sequence and see if one of them is the problem. It is really just a curiosity, as I have brand new ID1050Xs to put in, plus a real nice fuel filter.

The 16″ mirror in my dob was damaged by some hard water a while back, but I finally got a new replacement mirror for it. The old mirror can be refigured and recoated and then I will have a spare.

Unfortunately there is no center spot on the new mirror, so I need to add one to aid in collimation.

Integra

Integra

A new catalytic converter, new O2 sensor, and new spark plugs and now the good old Integra GSR passes emissions.

Progress continues with rain drain system and significant rock backfill. So far 60 trucks of rock, which is about 1.6 million pounds of rock. Once that tree garden is filled it should be a tad over 2 million pound of rock. The excavator crew thinks I should have invested in a quarry.

The conduit is for the service entrance. 3x 4″ conduits for primary power, and that should support 600 amps with no difficulty, and could grow to 800 or 1000amps.

It is a happy day when you get cool parts made by cool friends. 8x ID1050Xs and the F750PTS, plus 2 AFR500V2 w/NTKs all for the twin-turbo GTO. (Thanks to Paul Yaw, Tony Palo, and James Ballenger for making great stuff).

I figure 8x 1050xs running at 70psi base pressure will be sufficient for RWD.

Last foundation wall pour complete. Time for lots and lots of gravel and rock, then the floors get poured.

Anti

Anti

I like anti-seize. Given most fastener use cases in modern cars are steel bolts in aluminum threads, it is an everyday tool. I have for many years used nickel based anti-seize.

I recently switched to a ceramic anti-seize called Rock’NRoll that so far has been working extremely well, especially on exhaust components. I think it is my new favorite.

Any other favorite anti-seize compounds?

Forms have been removed from second foundation pour, and forms are going up for the third pour, which includes the ceiling in the vault/safe room. The third pour should happen mid next week.
