This is a great presentation about the particulars of the code paths used in the Bosch/VW ECUs in order to detect the test conditions for the emission trickery. If you are a calibrator, it is worth a watch.

Starting at about 38mins..

I dropped my R32 on the ground last night and the wheels didn’t fall off! I dug out my 3/4 inch 300 ft-lb torque wrench to tighten the axle nuts, which is easy to do if the car is on the ground. I double checked all of the other nuts for torque, and drove the car out of the garage and to dinner. Everything seemed to work great! No funny noises, no parts falling off, the brakes worked, and my sight of eye alignment wasn’t too bad. It needs a real alignment now, and then some time on the dyno. While it was on the lift I replaced the factory injectors with the stock ones from my R35 GTR, so there is some tweaking needed (more than just a quick tweak of the injector scale.)

Finishing up the R32 Rear parking brakes cleaned up and reinstalled, and main brakes re-installed with new lines.
