Engine dropped in.. time to start hooking stuff up and getting this broken in.

I always feel a little nervous when the engine is at the highest point on the lifter being rolled over the front cross bar. Lots of potential and expensive energy there.

Punch

Punch

I dropped my trusty Harris-Dracon D-814 Impact tool. ;(

For those in the know, this was a classic punchdown from the 90s. Harris-Dracon made lots of telephone line tools, and in 2004 they were purchased by Fluke. Fluke still sells a very similar tool ( D-914 now).

I suppose it had a good life punching down things in every company and house I have built.

Cold

Cold

It is a good sign when a pallet shows up from Russia. I figure the Russians have more experience when it comes to cold weather camping than I do.

It is a Russian Bear UP-5 tent with wood stove. I don’t like being cold.

Mounts

Mounts

Got some fancy engine mounts for the fancy engine. This is the first time they have been used on a billet block, so I had to clearance them a tad due to some of the extra thickness of the billet block compared to factory.

Thanks to Jeff for the sweet mounts!

Convertible

Convertible

I added another car to our collection… however this one was a mothers day present for Kristin, so not for my grubby hands.

The interior matches Kristin’s hair, which I thought was a good touch.

I have to admit the interior on Mercedes is top notch.

ADS-B

ADS-B

I got my ADS-B receiver wired up today. I had it setup at the old house, but just didn’t get it setup here until today. I’m using a RaspberryPI 4 with POE to run the Flightaware software, a Flightaware SDR dongle, 1090MHZ filter, and 1090MHz antenna.

It isn’t very high off the ground here, but it will have good coverage to the north. Once I get my ham radio antenna up on the roof I’ll probably move it up there… but for now it works.
