Hmm. This looks familiar. PDX-DCA way too early in the morning.

Big snap ring pliers for a small snap ring. New CHRA installed.
This book review is just spectacular. I can’t wait to read the book!

Time to fix that broken turbo on the GTO. Since I am removing one turbo, I decided to remove both and replace the exhaust housings with the .86 A/R version. ( They currently have the .64 A/R ones).
Removing the turbine housings was a bitch, as it always is with turbos that have been running for years. I need to remove the snap ring for the compressor cover plate still so I can swap in the new CHRA… and I have no idea why that snap ring is so massive.
Turbos are GT3071s with the T25 Turbine housings.
Back in the 70s and 80s my father traveled quite a bit, and often took pictures using slide film. While I was visiting my parents this weekend I scanned a few of the thousands of slides he took. (Some of these were on the classic Kodachrome 25 for those in the know) Most of these are from South America in the late 70s-early 80s – Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Columbia, Venezuela, and probably a few more places. A really interesting look at a time past. ( Joe Stump I think you visiting some of these places just this last year?)
While I was home visiting my parents in Indiana my mom found a few boxes of my stuff from my childhood.
As you can see, my reading material was top notch. 😉
The 12 year old me was not to far off from now… except my handwriting is even worse.
I have to believe that either Clay Cowgill or Christopher Neil Bradley had similar books, and Danny Chen must have had one of those Darth Vadar cases!
Hmm. What do we have here…. 🙂
This looks familiar. Monday check. MSP check. Small deviation this time as I’m going to Indiana on Thursday.
My friend Matthew pointed me to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utfbE3_uAMA
Amazing that he was able to do it. That is tenacity!
Well now… what do we have here.
