Today was the last phase of asphalt. About 280 tons for this span. Later in the week we will put drain rock along the sides and get the erosion control inspection. One more mark closer to being done!

Heavy

Heavy

We had some more heavy equipment onsite today to work on getting the driveway prepped for asphalt. This remaining section is about 800 feet long, and varies from 14 feet to 26 feet wide. The city requires a 50 foot long 26 foot wide ‘firetruck passing lane’ halfway down the driveway. I think I will refer to that as the launch control testing lane.

3 more trucks of rock of course. I really really should have just bought a rock quarry.

Water

Water

Water heater is getting installed. I debated between doing a tankless setup and a tank based one. I decided to do this Vertex because it is sort of a mix of the two. It is a 75 gallon tank, but has a 100,000 btu heater and can heat 150 gallons/hr (75 deg rise). That nets the first hour at 225 gallons, which when mixed down is a lot of showers, especially for the three of us.

Since we have a pretty large hot water recirc setup, the tank is helpful.

Racks

Racks

Yesterday I got two of the three auxiliary racks mounted as well as a bunch of security sensors. I still need to install the AV equipment rack, but it is a floor mounted rack so I need to wait for the last floor polish/finish.

Next up is to put the keystone panels in the second rack and start some terminations, as well as install some network gear.

Kitchen

Kitchen

2 Ovens, Refrigarator, Freezer, 2 Dish washers, Microwave, 1 washing machine and 2 dryers installed today. Progress!

Induction top should get installed next week.

Round 2 of driveway paving is complete. This was about 150 tons. The first phase was around 140 tons, and in total it should be something around 525 tons. Weather was good, as it was not raining, but cool. The grades for water flow turned out great, so after a bit of curing it will be ready for some donuts. 😉

Floors

Floors

The floors are done.. sort of. Two finish coats done, but there will be another polish and coat after appliance, plumbing, etc.

They look fantastic in person. The variance with the mix of rift and quarter sawn is stunning.

Audrey says they make a perfect dance floor, and demonstrated such.

I also completed the install of the second server cabinet in the server room.

Lights

Disco ball, check. Dance floor, check. 38+ speakers, check. Excellent taste in 80’s music, check!

The light fixture for the great room was installed today. It looks great, especially with the scale of the room. We used scaffolding to get it up there, as installing at ~22 ft is a bit out of reach of a standard ladder.

Yes, It does indeed look a little bit like the nuclear symbol. 😉

Deck heaters also installed.
